Quiet, tranquil stop along I-80. People who who go to church in glass structures shouldn't throw stones ?? Seriously, it's a neat church. I think a F.000005 tornado would wipe it out.
A welcoming place for everyone. A peaceful sanctuary. There is a gift shop, the translucent chapel, the stations of the cross outside which is also handicap accessible. Peaceful views all around. A gift!
Simple looking church as one sees it from a distance, but majestically beautiful when approaching the grounds. You literally feel as if you are entering JESUS tomb which is a welcoming center with a gift shop. As you exit the welcoming center, there is a walkway that has a stream where water flows from the welcome center and ends underneath the tabernacle in the church. Upon entering the church you notice that the church has glass walls. It made me feel as mass was being held outside along with nature. This church was so serene that you truly can invoke the HOLY SPIRIT. Although, my husband and I were in Nebraska to celebrate his parents 60th Wedding Anniversary, we were blessed to visit and celebrate mass at HOLY SPIRIT SHRINE on our 22nd Wedding Anniversary. It was a wonderful experience.
This place was beautiful! The was a nice water feature theme that carried throughout the lobby, outside walk and chapel. The chapel was gorgeous with all the glass windows looking out. The grounds we're landscaped very nicely with wild flowers which made it a very natural sanctuary. There were some walkways that we're still being built but it looks like it will be very nice to take strolls. It was pretty busy (eclipse day?) So it wasn't very quiet and peaceful but it was very nice. They have some picnic tables near the parking lot and restrooms in the first building. It closes at 5 pm which is unfortunate because I wanted to see it all lit up but the pictures will have to do.
Astonishingly beautiful location... inspired architecture. Be prepared for a two mile drive on gravel roads to reach destination
